Copenhagen-based ensemble NEKO3 is visiting Helsinki and together with Korvat auki, hosting open workshops and a concert on Monday 30.5. NEKO3 is a contemporary music ensemble consisting of three members: pianist Fei Nie and two percussionists Lorenzo Colombo and Kalle Hakosalo. The ensemble is working towards the creation of a new musical language and repertoire. Placed between acoustic and electronic music, NEKO3 builds a narrative and concept for each concert and thereby making it a unique experience for the audience.
During this spring, 3 composers from Korvat auki, selected through an open call, have been creating new works for NEKO3. We invite everyone to follow how the ensemble and the composers workshop these new works in the open workshops on Monday 30.5. from 10 to 15. The collaboration of Korvat auki and NEKO3 culminates with an outstanding concert on Monday at 19:00, where the ensemble – alongside the new works created especially for this occasion – will also be performing extended music works by Marcela Lucatelli, Alexander Schubert and Simon Loffler. Join us for these laid-back events at Kalliosali, free admission to the workshops and the concert.
